Microformats and Media... RFC if you like JS or CSS good to see "smart" drupal people working on stuff I am interested in...

In related news from WebOrganics by Martin McEvoy ...

hAudio 0.9 has reached a stately version 9.0 which I imagine will be the final proposal from the contributors of the hAudio Microformat.

We had a great meeting in Orlando about a dozen people showed up .... and we are going to meet on a monthly basis!!! Look for more news on the http://groups.drupal.org/florida site...

meeting notes

Mike Anello's post about the meeting

I am still thinking about how to use RDFa and microformats ... even while I am here in Orlando at BarCamp...

I see there are Structured Blogging plugins for Movable Type and WordPress that in Drupal terms are new content types that allow you to create things like contacts, events, reviews using Microformats including:

hCard
hCalendar
hReview
relLicense
relTag
XFN
XOXO

Good Idea make it easy for the end user to do this stuff ... please!

In my blog posts will I add special semantic / RDFa / microformat tags? well maybe I will when I better understand it -- I do type my html "raw"... so whats a few more attributes.

The big news at Drupalcon Boston was that in Version 7 drupal is moving to the semantic web.

This has been an interesting topic that I have really wanted to better understand. So now I have a reason to try to learn what this RDF / microformats crazy cool stuff is.

So far I am learning that it is still "complicated" but I am going to keep reading these documents over and over...

RDFa Primer I found this to be understandable mostly.

This picture is proof that I was not the only person in Orlando for the May 19th Florida Drupal Users Group meeting.

It would have been great if we had 250 people but it was a very good start. Two of the attendees are "professional" drupal developers. One moving from a "different" CMS and 2 "site admins"
